LANCASTER CITY, Pa. — The death of Mason Nickel, 23, has sent ripples of grief through Lancaster County after a construction accident claimed his life Wednesday morning. Nickel, a resident of Wrightsville, was working on a crew addressing a water main leak in the 1300 block of Arcadia Road when the fatal incident occurred around 10 a.m.

Authorities say Nickel suffered fatal injuries while using excavating machinery. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office.
