Clinton Warren and Nelson Okuoimose Vehicle Crash Richland, LA Death and Obituary: Forever In Our Hearts
Grief has settled over families in Alabama and Arizona following a fatal commercial vehicle crash in northeast Louisiana. Two men were killed Thursday morning on Interstate 20 in Richland Parish, authorities confirmed.
The collision, investigated by Louisiana State Police, occurred shortly after 10 a.m. west of Louisiana Highway 3249 in Ouachita Parish. Officials identified the victims as Clinton Warren, 46, of Vina, Alabama, and Nelson Okuoimose, 45, of Laveen, Arizona.
According to preliminary reports, Warren was operating a blue 2012 Freightliner hauling a manufactured home in the left westbound lane. A white 2013 Freightliner pulling a box trailer traveled alongside in the right lane. Investigators say Warren’s truck veered into the adjacent lane, colliding with the second vehicle. Both trucks then crossed the roadway and struck the Vancil Road overpass bridge support.
Warren and Okuoimose, neither of whom were wearing seat belts, died at the scene. The other driver, who was properly restrained, sustained minor injuries.
While impairment is not suspected, toxicology samples were collected as part of routine procedure. The investigation remains ongoing.
In a public statement, state police underscored the importance of seat belt compliance, reminding motorists that proper restraint dramatically reduces the risk of fatal injury. The tragic loss of Warren and Okuoimose serves as a powerful reminder of the unpredictable dangers of highway travel and the enduring impact such accidents leave behind.
