In Loving Memory of Evelyn Rorie Whiteville

Evelyn Rorie, a beloved member of the Whiteville community, tragically passed away on February 7, 2026, at the age of 82, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Her unexpected death has deeply saddened all who knew her, and her memory will live on through the lives she touched.

The Whiteville Police Department confirmed that Evelyn was a passenger in a silver Dodge Ram driven by her husband when the accident occurred near the intersection of JK Powell Boulevard and West Burkhead Street. Despite prompt medical attention, Evelyn was pronounced dead at Columbus Regional Hospital, while her husband remains in critical condition at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center. The driver of the second vehicle involved in the accident sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
