Griffin, Georgia Woman Survives Kidnapping Assault; Suspect Still at Large
Griffin, Georgia — An investigation is underway after a woman reported being unlawfully restrained and assaulted over the course of an overnight incident. According to police, she endured multiple forms of physical violence before escaping and contacting authorities from a commercial location on North Hill Street.
The alleged perpetrator, Carlos Elder Jr., 32, is currently the subject of an active search. A BOLO alert has been issued for a gray Jeep Compass with Georgia tag DBD6076, reportedly last seen traveling along Highway 151 at approximately 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Law enforcement officials advise that the suspect may be armed and poses a potential danger to the public. He faces charges including kidnapping, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, and battery. The victim is receiving appropriate support services while cooperating with authorities.
