​Jacob Alan Mahan Single-Vehicle Crash Tippecanoe County, IN Death, Obituary: Tragic Loss

Authorities and loved ones are mourning the sudden loss of Jacob “Jake” Alan Mahan, a 27-year-old Delphi resident, who died in a single-vehicle crash early Monday in rural Tippecanoe County. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on State Road 26 East near North 900 East in Lafayette. Deputies with the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office found Jake deceased in a nearby field after being ejected from his GMC Yukon. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Jake, a 2017 graduate of William Henry Harrison High School, was employed as a window and door glazier at Central Indiana Glass. He was known among family, friends, and colleagues for his hardworking nature, warmth, and dedication to those he loved.

His wife, Sydney Mahan, shared heartfelt tributes online, remembering Jake’s loving spirit and the profound impact he had on their family. His mother, Val Mahan, celebrated his kind nature and generosity in a public post. Jake is survived by his wife, his parents, and his children: Charlotte Mahan, Jace Giddens, Jarrett Giddens, and Judson Rouhier.

Funeral services and visitation are scheduled for Feb. 16-17 at Hippensteel Funeral Home in Lafayette. Though his life ended tragically early, the memories of Jake’s love, laughter, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew him.
